Finding a restaurant that offers a diverse menu to cater to all tastes and dietary preferences can be quite a challenge. However, during our recent visit to Dandy Modern Food, an all-day casual eatery, rotisserie, bakery, and café, we were pleasantly surprised by their latest offering—the “Wholesome Bowl Series.”
Combining fresh ingredients, enticing flavors, and a touch of Mediterranean influence, Dandy Modern Food has created a collection of bowls and refreshing drinks that are sure to satisfy even the most discerning palates.
During our visit, we had the pleasure of trying all four bowls from the series, each offering a unique and delightful culinary experience. The Hot Chick Bowl, featuring chicken shawarma, petite spiced chicken patties, sautéed pea sprouts, cherry tomatoes, falafel, saffron long grain rice, and fries, provided a harmonious blend of Mediterranean and Asian flavors. The accompanying Dandy hummus, red & white sauce added a creamy and tangy element that elevated the dish to new heights.
Next, we sampled the Macho Moo Bowl, which catered to the beef lovers among us. With beer shawarma, beef marinara meatballs, sorted pea sprouts, cherry tomatoes, falafel, saffron long grain rice, and fries, this bowl was a hearty and satisfying choice. The robust flavors of the beef were beautifully complemented by the various ingredients, creating a taste sensation that left us craving for more.
For those following a vegetarian or vegan diet, the Meat-Less Bowl proved to be a delightful option. The combination of king oyster mushrooms, edamame mushroom couscous, roasted pumpkins, sautéed pea sprouts, cherry tomatoes, pickled carrots, pumpkin seeds, and corn kernels offered a medley of textures and flavors that celebrated the bounties of nature. The addition of Dandy hummus, red & white sauce provided a creamy and tangy touch that tied the elements together harmoniously.
To add a communal and sharing aspect to our meal, we indulged in the Treats Platter. This delightful platter featured a bed of fresh greens, topped with chicken and beef hatsarnd, petite spiced chicken patties, beef mafinard meatballs, tabbouleh salad, and chips. The combination of meats and lighter options catered to all palates, making it an ideal choice for a group dining experience. The zesty kick of the Dandy red sauce brought all the elements together in a burst of flavors.
To complement our meal, we opted for the Strawberry Lime Iced Tea and the Fuji Rosemary Iced Tea. The Strawberry Lime Iced Tea provided a fruity and refreshing blend, with the tanginess of lime and the sweetness of strawberries perfectly balanced. The infusion of freshly brewed tea added depth to this chilled beverage.
On the other hand, the Fuji Rosemary Iced Tea offered a unique and invigorating experience. The crispness of Fuji apples combined with the earthy aroma of rosemary created a drink that was both refreshing and memorable.
It is worth noting that Dandy Modern Food is a Halal-certified Mediterranean restaurant, ensuring that diners can enjoy their meals with peace of mind. With three branches in Malaysia, including one in Shah Alam and two in Penang, Dandy Modern Food is easily accessible to food enthusiasts across different regions.
