If you’re a burger lover and happen to be in Penang, you don’t want to miss out on Doto Penang – the new cafe that specializes in hamburgers. Located at Karpal Singh in front of McDonald’s, the cafe is situated inside a residential area and features an outstanding ambiance with its use of red and cream white colors.
Doto Penang is set to soft launch on May 26th, 2023, and we were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to try out their menu before its official opening. As expected, they serve a wide range of hamburgers that are sure to satisfy any burger enthusiast. Some of their signature burger choices include Cheeseto, Doto Smashed, Baconato, Truffle Wag, and many more.
We started our meal with two of their signature burgers: Doto Smashed and Truffle Wag. The Doto Smashed burger features a 120gm meat patty, potatoes smashed, cheddar cheese, lettuce, and their special sauce. The patty was cooked to perfection, and the combination of flavors in the burger was simply delicious.
The Truffle Wag burger, on the other hand, boasts a 150gm wagyu patty, cheddar cheese, grilled mushroom, caramelized onion, and truffle mayo. The wagyu patty was juicy and tender, and the truffle mayo added an extra layer of decadence to the overall taste.
Apart from their signature burgers, Doto Penang also serves a unique dessert called the Ice Burger. It’s an ice cream inside a burger, and they offer a variety of ice cream flavors to choose from, such as Madagasca Vanilla, Dark Chocolate, Uji Matcha, Lotus Biscoff, and many more. We tried their Ice Burger with Lotus Biscoff ice cream, and it was a match made in heaven. The burger was crispy and paired perfectly with the ice cream.
To wash down the burgers, Doto Penang offers a selection of drinks such as coffee, soda, and tea. Their tea options include Da Hong Pao, Pu Er, and more. We would recommend pairing your burger with a cup of tea to cleanse your palate and balance out the rich flavors of the burger.
Overall, Doto Penang is definitely a must-visit if you’re in Penang and looking for a great burger experience. Their burgers are top-notch, and their unique Ice Burgers are a fun and delicious dessert option. With its cozy and inviting atmosphere, Doto Penang is the perfect spot to enjoy a delicious burger meal with friends and family.
