If you’re ever in the mood for authentic Malaysian cuisine packed with bold spices and rich flavors, DUAN at Lebuh Pantai, George Town, should be at the top of your list!
This pork-free and lard-free Penang cafe has become our go-to spot for lunch and dinner. Not only is the ambiance super cozy, but the service is also fast and friendly – what more could you ask for?
During our last visit, we dove into some of their signature dishes, and let me tell you, it was a flavor explosion!
Signature Beef Koay Teow – One word: WOW. This dish is part of their NEW Seasonal Menu and features a slow-simmered broth that’s been lovingly crafted to perfection. The rich, umami flavors come alive with a blend of traditional herbs and spices.
Signature Mee Sua Soup with Fried Fish – Comforting and flavorful, this soup was the perfect way to ease into our meal.
Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng – This dish is an absolute MUST! The fried chicken is crunchy perfection, and we honestly order it every time we visit.
Curry Mutton Rice – Oh my, the biryani rice paired with the tender mutton is soooo good. You won’t want to share!
Housemade Chicken Satay – Perfect for sharing, these skewers are juicy and packed with flavor. A must-order for sure!
Signature Housemade Combo – This trio of Prawn Fritters, Sweet & Spicy Beancurd, and Beancurd Skin is the perfect snack platter, especially with their house-made dipping sauce. Yum!
If you’re not in the mood for a full meal, don’t worry. They’ve got you covered with some lighter bites like:
Kaya Butter Toast with Half-Boiled Egg – A classic and oh-so-satisfying combo for a quick snack.
As for drinks, we sipped on their Signature Coconut Ice and Signature Duan Coffee, both of which were refreshing and delicious!
The overall experience? Fantastic! Whether you’re popping by for a casual lunch or a laid-back dinner, DUAN delivers every time with its cozy atmosphere and mouthwatering dishes. Definitely give it a try next time you’re in George Town!
