Recently, Urban Daybreak Penang has moved to new outlet at Lebuh Bishop. Urban Daybreak relocated to a historic building on Bishop Street, with just major renovations made.
It is more spacious and has natural light, fusing traditional and contemporary cooking methods. The outside of Urban Daybreak Penang could not be noticeable or quite difficult to find. The atmosphere at Urban Daybreak Penang is homey, modest, and inviting. There is nothing better than entering a beautiful location that immediately makes you feel at home, with its cosy ambiance, the calming perfume of freshly brewed coffee, and of course, its exquisite breakfast.

Urban’s Really Big Breakfast (RM42), is as large as its name suggests. Attention! We absolutely adore this; it’s to die for! It contained everyone favourite’s breakfast foods. A generous platter of sourdough toast, scrambled eggs (or 2 eggs your way), house-made spiced sausage, thick bacon, king mushroom & spinach, homemade BBQ baked beans, oven roasted tomatoes, mesclun salad. All is well served!
Urban Daybreak make their own pork sausage, and it’s 100/100. The poached egg and tomatoes were both cooked to perfection and were both juicy and sweet. The rosemary potatoes and mushrooms there. It was a good idea to include spinach, too! Simply said, fantastic!
You don’t have to be Italian to recognise the appearance and flavour of a traditional dish of pasta! Urban Daybreak Penang’s Chorizo Pasta (RM28.50) is made with chorizo, roasted cherry tomatoes, capsicum, sweet basil, and plenty of Parmesan to finish it off. It shines with its simplicity. Delicious flavours, mouth-watering colours, and a perennial favourite!
Vanilla syrup is used to sweeten the Best Drink Ever (RM13), which helps to soften the coffee and make it sweet enough for someone who doesn’t drink coffee to appreciate. Savouring the hot chocolate made with thick, foamy milk and served in its pale pink teacup.
Urban Daybreak’s Matcha latte are also highly advised. In addition to traditional coffee, Urban Daybreak also sells artisan coffee for RM15 each cup. iced coffee with mint infusion, caramel mocha, and hazelnut divinity.

The ingredients in this dish are not a secret. The main ingredients are arugula and chunks of roasted cauliflower that are golden and tender after their time in the oven. For flavour and moisture, faro beans are combined with some chimichurri and aioli sauce. Can anyone pass one of Urban Daybreak’s best seller – Avocado Smash (RM25)? As part of the plating procedure, the avocado is thoroughly mashed and seasoned with a touch of lemon and a beetroot smear. If you’d like, you can use it to further sweeten and refresh.
The bread is sourdough, which is what you want in the morning or whenever you have a bread craving (as opposed to a craving for pancakes). The dish was finished with a poached egg and a couple cherry tomatoes on top.
